Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina left the country

After Sheikh Hasina left the country,  Bangladesh Army Chief General Walker-uz-Zaman talked about forming an interim government.

Amid the violence in Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina’s military plane returned to Bangladesh from Hindon Airbase on Tuesday morning. In fact, Sheikh Hasina had reached India on Monday after resigning from the post of Prime Minister.

The Bangladesh Army Chief held a meeting with the leaders of the country’s major parties and an 18-member interim government was proposed.

Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman has spoken of forming an interim government. Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, one of Sheikh Hasina’s biggest critics, will be the chief advisor of this government. Reports were already speculating about his becoming the Prime Minister.

The president ordered the release of former prime minister and opposition leader Khaleda Zia from prison. She was sentenced to 17 years in prison in a corruption case in 2018.

Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus has called Bangladesh a free country after Sheikh Hasina’s resignation. Yunus accused Hasina of destroying the legacy of her father Mujibur Rahman and said that our country was living in slavery. Sheikh Hasina used to control everything like a dictator. Today all the people of the country are feeling free. He described the violence and barbarism happening in the country as the anger of the protesters against Hasina. Yunus Khan said that it is hoped that these students and the young generation of the country will together take Bangladesh forward.

More than 10 people were killed on Monday in clashes between police and protesters. Protesters have occupied several highways. And so far more than 400 people have lost their lives. Most of them are students.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said that Bangladesh is keeping an eye on the crisis and is in touch with the Indian community. While giving a statement on the situation in Bangladesh in the Rajya Sabha, Foreign Minister Jaishankar said, “We are in constant touch with the Indian community present there. There are about 19 thousand Indians in Bangladesh, out of which 9 thousand are students. Many students returned to India in July. We are also keeping an eye on the situation from the point of view of minorities.” Jaishankar said, “Many organizations in Bangladesh have come forward to help the minorities. The forces deployed on the border have been asked to remain alert. We have been in touch with the officials of Dhaka for the last 24 hours.”
According to reports, the Bangladesh Army has issued helpline numbers for Hindus living across Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Army has prepared a list of numbers for Hindus living in different districts who may be in any danger. The situation in Bangladesh is extremely serious.

According to the Dhaka Tribune report, the situation in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka is under control today. After the attack and arson on police posts on Monday, there is an atmosphere of fear among the policemen and the policemen are missing from the roads. The army has taken the entire traffic system under its control.
The protests in Bangladesh, led mainly by students, initially demanded the abolition of the quota system for government jobs but later turned into a wider revolt against Prime Minister Hasina and her ruling Awami League party. At least 400 people were killed, including 14 police officers, and hundreds were injured in clashes in Dhaka on Sunday, according to local media outlet Prothom Alo.
People in Bangladesh celebrated the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by marching in the streets. But soon after, the celebrations turned violent as protesters attacked party and government symbols, looted and set several buildings, houses and stores on fire.
